Agile versus Predictive Project Management

Elevate your career in project management today!

In today's diverse business landscape, no single project management methodology can guarantee success across all industries and organizational contexts. Effective project management requires a tailored approach that aligns with each project's unique characteristics, constraints, and objectives. To be an effective project manager in today鈥檚 economy, project managers must develop fluency in multiple methodologies鈥攑articularly both Agile and Predictive (Waterfall) approaches鈥攗nderstanding when and how to apply each framework's tools, techniques, and best practices.

Course Benefits

糖心Vlog's Agile Project Management versus Predictive Project Management introduces participants to the most popular Agile frameworks and how they align with traditional project management. They will learn the pros and cons of Agile techniques from a team member鈥檚 perspective, which will help them create the right environment for self-organizing, self-managing teams to flourish.

The course also provides an overview of a Predictive framework, exploring the differences between a more traditional style of project management with one that encourages trial and error.

Using presentations, discussions, and exercises, this course will walk through the entire life cycle both of an Agile-managed project as well as a Predictive-management project.

Participants who take the course will be able to:

  • Discuss projects using both Agile and Predictive terminology
  • Apply the value proposition that this approach provides for organizations
  • Determine the best form of project management for their situation
  • Acquire, develop, and empower the right project team
  • Understand Agile cadence and the Predictive Life Cycle
  • Participate on the project as a Servant Leader
  • Monitor team progress and communicate effectively
  • Assist in adopting Agile principles within the organization and reinforcing the use of Predictive principles where needed.

Candidates for this class include:

  • Individuals considering pursuing PMI®'s Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® certification or the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) certification. The 14 education hours can be used towards either certification’s education requirement.
