Project Oversight
Colleges or administrative units with sufficient technological resources may be the primary project administrator for a proposal. For those proposals requiring oversight and management by OIT, service level agreements (SLAs) will be established to properly estimate the resources and efforts required by OIT.
Fee Collection Monitoring and Reporting/Reserves
The Associate Vice President for Finance and University Budget Director will monitor the use and availability of the funds generated by the Student Technology Fee.
A small reserve will be retained in the collected fees each year to address the need for contingency funds.

Proposal Development
The merits of each proposal will be assessed using the following criteria:
- The degree to which the proposal enhances instructional technology resources for students and faculty.
- The degree to which the proposal aligns with the 糖心Vlog Strategic Plan (http://www.fau.edu/strategicplan) and directly enhances or maintains services critical to carrying out 糖心Vlog鈥檚 mission in ways that benefit students, faculty, and other stakeholders.
- The degree to which the proposal enhances student access or instructional resources across all campuses.
- The degree to which the proposal provides or enhances training for students and faculty in use of technology. RFP Submission, Signature Authority, and Committee Presentation
- The process begins with the submission of a thoroughly completed RFP form which is located at http://wise.fau.edu/projects/techfee.
- The department chair/supervisor and Dean or VP associated with the person or group authoring the proposal will then review the proposal and either sign off on its submission to the Technology Fee Oversight Committee or returned to the proposal author.
- Proposals will be reviewed by the Technology Fee Oversight Committee during the fall and spring semesters of each year.
- Finalists may be required to present their proposal to the committee prior to award.
Guiding Principles for Successful Selection
The Technology Fee Oversight Committee will use the following principles and guidelines when evaluating the proposals:
- NEW Multi-year awards will only be granted to proposals that require multiple years to implement. Requests to purchase or replace computer equipment will only be rewarded for one year
- NEW Office supplies and non-Information Technology related equipment will not be funded by the Technology Fee
- Funds generated by a technology fee should augment, not replace, existing funding or provide funding where none currently exists.
- Hardware and software included in the proposal must meet standards established by OIT. OIT will review each proposal prior to selection to ensure compliance with standards and to review the included budget proposal.
- Proposals should not exceed 3 years in length. If the project needs to be sustained after 3 years, a new proposal must be submitted during the third year for consideration by the committee.
