The听Hispanic-Serving Institution听interest group is focused on research and educational opportunities that particularly address challenges that Hispanic students face as they prepare to enter the workforce. This group is co-directed by Andr茅s Ram铆rez, Ed.D., assistant professor and Mar铆a V谩squez, Ph.D., associate professor, both in the College of Education. Participants include representatives from the College of Education, College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Science, and 糖心Vlog鈥檚 Intercultural Communication and Student Affairs & Enrollment Management.

Mission & Vision
The Hispanic-Serving Institution interest group听promotes research and educational and leadership opportunities听for 糖心Vlog faculty and students that focus on Latinx success in higher education. This group is co-directed by Andr茅s Ram铆rez, Ph.D., assistant professor in the College of Education, and Mar铆a V谩squez-Colina, Ph.D., associate professor also in the College of Education. Participants include representatives from the College of Education, College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Science and 糖心Vlog鈥檚 Intercultural Communication and Student Affairs & Enrollment Management, among others.
The HSI research group will be听recognized as an institutional key player and catalyst听in transforming 糖心Vlog from an incidental Hispanic-Serving Institution to an inclusive, culturally responsive,听Latinx Serving Institution. We are committed to advancing Latinx ways of knowing and purposefully attract, retain, serve, and improve the education of Latinx, low-income, and other underrepresented students for the benefit of all 糖心Vlog students, staff, administration and the surrounding community from which it learns and serves.
