Learning Abroad at Florida Atlantic

Education Abroad at 糖心Vlog (糖心Vlog) gives you the chance to study in another country and see the world in a completely new way. You can earn credit toward your degree while experiencing a different culture firsthand, from the way people live day to day to how your classes and learning take shape in a new setting.听

You鈥檒l grow your confidence, build perspective and come back with stories and experiences that stay with you long after the program ends.

Education Abroad is part of the Center for Global Engagement, which coordinates study abroad programs, supports partnerships with institutions worldwide and connects students with the resources they need to succeed abroad.

Why Go Abroad?

  • Learn in a global context with coursework that often transfers back to your degree plan
  • Build skills that employers and graduate programs value, like cross-cultural communication, adaptability and problem-solving
  • Explore regions of the world firsthand
  • Connect with other students, faculty and professionals across borders

How It Works

Education Abroad supports a range of program types and helps you plan for the academic and practical steps of studying abroad.

Program Overview

Florida Atlantic offers short-term and long-term study abroad opportunities that allow you to earn academic credit while studying in another country. Programs can include faculty-led trips, exchange semesters, direct-enroll options and third-party provider programs.

Eligibility and Requirements

Most programs are open to undergraduate and graduate students in good academic standing. You鈥檒l work with an Education Abroad advisor to review program requirements, GPA guidelines and any specific prerequisites.

Financial Aid Options

You may be able to use your federal financial aid and Florida Atlantic scholarships for study abroad. There are also Education Abroad scholarships and external funding opportunities to help reduce costs.

In addition to federal aid and Florida Atlantic scholarships, study abroad funding opportunities may include awards such as Gilman, Boren and other external scholarships. These can help cover travel and program expenses.

Travel Safety and Preparation

Before you go, you鈥檒l complete pre-departure orientation and meet insurance and travel registration requirements. Education Abroad and the Florida Atlantic Global Travel Safety and Security Committee provide guidelines to support your health and safety abroad.

Types of Study Abroad Programs

Faculty-Led Programs

These are short-term programs (often 1鈥6 weeks) where you travel with Florida Atlantic faculty, take courses and have structured support and group experiences.

Exchange Programs

Florida Atlantic partners with universities worldwide where you can spend a semester or academic year enrolled at a host institution.

Direct Enroll Partner Programs

Students enroll directly at partner institutions or through approved third-party providers, allowing for more independent study abroad options.

Third-party Programs

Once students have reviewed 糖心Vlog study abroad options, they may consider applying to a third-party program, which includes but is not limited to study abroad providers, other U.S. college/university study abroad programs, or a foreign institution abroad with whom 糖心Vlog is not a direct enroll partner.听
