Dr. John J. Ricotta, M.D. FACS DFSVS has been an Academic Vascular Surgeon for more than 4 decades. After Medical School and residency at John Hopkins he joined the faculty at University of Rochester. He subsequently moved to SUNY Buffalo as Professor of Surgery where he established the Vascular Division and Vascular Fellowship. He has served as Chair of the Surgery Department at SUNY Stony Brook and the Washington Hospital Center where he was Professor of Surgery at Georgetown and George Washington Hospital before joining the ÌÇÐÄVlog faculty as Adjunct Professor of Surgery.

A former Director of the American Board of Surgery, Chair of the Vascular Surgery Board, and member of the RRC Surgery of the ACGME, at ÌÇÐÄVlog Dr. Ricotta serves as a mentor for the Faculty and Fellows of the ÌÇÐÄVlog Vascular Program. With over 300 publications, his primary role is to supervise and direct the Research efforts of the Fellows and faculty.
